Margaret Thatcher RIP

Baroness Thatcher has died…I suspect the kindest way to describe her would be that she polarised opinions about herself and her politics…

State funeral…

No doubt the people that queued up on the Ides of march to plunge in the political knife with be saying what a lovely lady she was…

I have mixed feelings…

  1. Been following you from the start, `mixed feelings` we are all entilted to have them but on the day whe some one dies. goodbye

  2. she might come back and haunt us !!!

  3. a state funeral,not cremation
I guess the lady wasn’t for burning.

    ………………I’ll get my coat.

    very indifferent to her passing

  4. “My policies are based not on some economics theory, but on things I and millions like me were brought up with: an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay; live within your means; put by a nest egg for a rainy day; pay your bills on time; support the police.”
    Margaret Thatcher, 1981.

    Compare and contrast.

    • She used us… Now we are not need we are being disposed of…

      • She may have used us but in return she supported us. Thatcher would never have treated us as Cameron is now. In her day, I supported the Tories. Now I’d rather vote any other way but.

    • “there is no such thing as society”… Not now Thatch…thanks in no small pay to your policies…

      • Cameron’s ‘Big Society’ – I’m all ears.

      • What she really said:
Here is the full quote from an interview given to Women’s Own in 1987:
“I think we have gone through a period when too many children and people have been given to understand ‘I have a problem, it is the Government’s job to cope with it!’ or ‘I have a problem, I will go and get a grant to cope with it!’ ‘I am homeless, the Government must house me!’ and so they are casting their problems on society and who is society? There is no such thing!
“There are individual men and women and there are families and no government can do anything except through people and people look to themselves first… There is no such thing as society. There is living tapestry of men and women and people and the beauty of that tapestry and the quality of our lives will depend upon how much each of us is prepared to take responsibility for ourselves and each of us prepared to turn round and help by our own efforts those who are unfortunate.”

A different meaning when you look at it like that. But then the press, or the loony left, have never ever bothered to let the truth get in the way of a good story.

  5. Maggie loved her Prot Team.

  6. Brief Encounter

Many other people will have died today, many of them in their lives will have done great things.
