How lucky are they?

and it’s not who you may think I refer to…

I would say the two groups of people are BOTH lucky…

The idiot teenagers are lucky they are not in the US of A or Poland…they would be, like as not, shot dead…

The other lucky group are the two cops faced with a potential life and death decision: ‘do I go along with the thinking it’s a fake and risk the death of my partner and myself or do I shoot?”

If they shoot and it’s a blank firer/imitation (not a toy as the DM helpfully points out-cocksuckers that they are…) they are:

suspended and have their lives turned upside down for the next two years or so while the IPCC/PSD scrutinise every second of the interaction looking to find a way to screw them…

Not to mention the thought of killing someone’s son for no other reason than he was stupid…

As it happens… it was a couple of switched on teenagers and cops…

but… it could have gone either way…

This is the moment a teenager was seconds away from being shot by police for carrying an imitation firearm.

Back in 2007 police were called to Erdington in Birmingham after reports came through that a youth was spotted with a firearm and was using it to ‘worry’ people.

The ‘weapon’ turned out to be a toy gun, but armed police at the time weren’t to know and demanded the teen drop the object.

The hard-hitting video is being shown in schools by West Midlands Police to steer teenagers away from gun crime and ‘de-glamourise’ gang culture and has reached more than 10,000 pupils across the region.

The program run by the West Midlands Police is a good idea…but the Police telling gang members they face being shot under similar circumstances is only half of the battle…

The communities that these idiots live in need to be more proactive in deterring them from the whole gangsta lifestyle…

  1. The nightmare scenario…

  2. Now that I’m always armed this scenario is often on my mind.

When you’re sent a call here our dispatch always asks if there are guns in the house. I recently went to a mum v son domestic where the question was asked and the son stated that he had some airsoft guns and would leave them out on a bench by the front door.

Being the 3rd unit there I took a look and they were a C8 assault rifle, an MP5, and a British L96 sniper rifle I picked them up and couldn’t tell them from the real thing.

What I’m getting at is that if someone pointed them at me I would undoubtably open fire. I dread to think of how I would feel on finding the firearm pointed at me was an airsoft. The only redeeming feature of such a scenario being that the management here is very supportive once they realise you acted in hood faith and honestly believed you were in danger.

    • In this situation the SMT here are on the side of their career- the exact opposite to the officer pulling the trigger…

As my post about the officer being done by his own force for dangerous drive-the sheriff basically destroyed the case by saying in so many words “you are having a laugh aren’t you? Doing a cop for having a bump when desperate to get to a job to save lives?”

      Shocking but not unexpected…

  3. While those communities are making a good living out of portraying everything as the fault of ‘society’ (and crucially, so are many, many others who wouldn’t dream of living there themselves), it’s never going to end.

    • I am waiting for the Chinese community to kick off and have a ‘race riot’…

      Oh what’s that you say?

They are too busy getting on with their lives and running a business?

heh… but I though the UK was a racist country that was evil to non-whites…
