George Osborne yesterday issued his toughest warning yet to banks that they must curb bonuses next year.
The Chancellor said they would face ‘consequences’, adding that regulators could step in to curb big pay-outs to staff unless banks voluntarily restrict them.
As ordinary families struggle with pay freezes and rising living costs, Mr Osborne said banks should store cash this winter rather than pay bonuses.
As Romeo once said, “Yet tell me not, for I have heard it all [before]”…
What was that George? Stop taking the piss bankers or I will tell you some more?
Oh yeah, he is really going to ‘get tough’ with the people he went to school with and finance his party…
4.2- BILLION in bonuses THIS YEAR!
