No such thing as a free lunch but… there is such thing as a free cop…

Police have seen a surge in interest in special constable roles, as the public rush to help the force after the summer riots.

Forces have been ‘overwhelmed’ by the swell of people eager to take up the unpaid position, with the number signing up doubling since the widespread looting that scarred England’s streets.

Areas hit hardest by the civil unrest have seen the largest amount of ‘unprecedented’ numbers of men and women volunteering their services.

Surge of interest: Police forces have been inundated with people wanting to become special constables

Music to the ears of the government…I bet…

  1. I’ll be interested to see how long they stick with it once the realities of the job are revealed to them.

  2. So the riots were a government conspiracy, then? 😉

    • Err… no…quite the opposite…it couldn’t have come at a worse time for them eh?

But notice the press coverage… ‘we love the police’ right up to the moment the riots were over then…

      ‘the police were crap…’

If I was a suspicious person… I might say that the press, being in the government’s pockets (literally, it seems…) were just following orders to diss the police so MOPS wouldn’t be too bothered when they see how few of us there are…

      and will be…
