ANOTHER isolated incident…

New CCTV of the riots in Birmingham shows police officers being shot at, the West Midlands force has said.

Dangerous: This footage, taken from a police helicopter, shows a masked man pointing a gun up at officers

The footage, which has been released by the police to encourage members of the public to come forward, shows a group in the Newtown area late on 9 August.

The group, all masked and all wearing black clothing, caused extensive damage at the Barton Arms pub.
Shots were also fired at the police helicopter and petrol bombs thrown at a marked police car, the force said.

Officers have started an attempted murder and arson investigation, and appealed for anyone with information about the attacks to contact them.

Well, ANOTHER isolated incident of officers being shot at… We, of course, do what we always do… Duck and hide.

“community, reassurance, increased patrols, community, isolated incident… Blah de blah de blah…”

The only way we will be armed is when someone shoots a police officer or goes on the rampage killing at random…

Errr… Oh right that HAS happened…

  1. It won’t change; they’d sooner have an army of dead / wounded coppers than one dead scrote sadly.

  2. What he said. A police “Manager” would rather tell the press what a good bloke you were than explain why you shot someone dead. Particularly if they’re from a visibile minority.

  3. Following on from an earlier post where stabbing a police officer 4 times is just assault, am I correct in assuming that shooting at a police officer would be classed as breach of the peace for making a loud noise ?

    • Not even that … Noise us not classed as a police matter and they will be quick to point out that the gun was a replica…(probably)…

Meanwhile in Gaza, “Abraham, we are taking fire from below”, “Open fire Michael! Use the M60!”

When I mentioned that video on ‘another blog’ a couple of days ago, one response was that it This person has (so far) not come back on my suggestion that – with their expertise in weapons recognition – they offer to be ‘first-on-scene’ in firearms incidents and give the initial Risk Assessment.
