1.be a police officer…not essential but really helps…
2.shag someone at work… it don’t really matter if its another officer or a member of the public… But MOPs are much better…
3.send texts to the lady you are having an affair with…
Of course, really if you do this in any job you will likely get sacked…but there aren’t many jobs that will put you in the dock for such naughty behaviour…
Of course if you are the PM…you will be ok..the worst thing that may happen is you may lose a book deal (or get one depending on who is the publisher) but if you’re a copper on DPC… You are going to jail…be sacked…loose your pension…
All sounds a little over the top for some naughtiness…

Ok… That’s not the reason he was binned…he was binned for being off post…but…again…it seems over the top…
Especially when you see people walking away with community sentences for kicking the Pisa out of your girlfriend…
Just my opinion…

I think we all agree he’s been a bit stupid but as you say, he didn’t deserve this. Maybe he should have done what the slags do and turn up to court saying hes trying really hard to get his life on track, he’s just got a new job then produce some toothless crackhead that’s allegedly his pregnant girlfriend. Of course its all complete bollocks but it seems to work for the scum.
He should have said that prison would make him poorly…
Unfortunately, I think he begged to be sacked, and jailed… In this current climate (and with respect) what on earth was he thinking of (and with, obviously)…
Yup…deserved to be disciplined… possibly sacked…
but jail?
loose pension?
not sure about that…
I am quite concerned that the service cannot deal with these things internally. He would almost certainly have been sacked but this constant washing of dirty linen in public does little to inspire confidence in the police service.
I agree…no other government agency is so under the scope… But no body else is being ‘reformed’ like we are …hence open season…
